What made you pursue a career in CS?
From my very early days as a software developer, after graduating, I worked in serving customers directly. The combination of innovative technology and, helping people achieve their goals, is what got me to where I am today.
What do you like about your role?
First and foremost, helping people - whether customers, teammates, or peers. In addition, I really like the strategic challenges I face daily, which often involve psychological and philosophical dilemmas. Lastly, being involved with innovational technology.
What were the most important tips/insights you received that contributed to your professional growth?
One always needs to try to think how the other side thinks and what the value is for them.
While relationships can't replace invaluable products/services, they sure help to open doors and help fix things.
You can't argue with feelings, but you can work to make certain feelings go away
Always try to put yourself in your customer position
What are the CS aspects you focus on in your current role?
My team is focused on all CS aspects, from onboarding new customers to making sure they adopt and see value in our product to ensuring customers are satisfied. As such, we are also responsible for the commercial aspects of subscription renewals and expansions.
What tips and recommendations can you share with other CSMs seeking professional growth?
Make sure you understand what the role you are aiming for demands and seek to ensure you have the right tools to fulfill it
Understand what KPIs the business looks at from a CS perspective and ensure you and your team are focused.
Build internal and external relations all the time :)
